Alpine Hills park

Alpine Hills Park, located in Rockford, IL, underwent an exciting project initiated by the Rockford Park District. Global Action Sports Solutions successfully secured the bid and was awarded the project, which encompassed both the design and construction of the Gateway Trail—a beginner trail that serves as an introduction to mountain biking. Situated within the city of Rockford, Alpine Hills Park is one of the pocket parks within the area.

Throughout the design and construction phase, GASS coordinated and communicated closely with the municipality, to ensure the trail meets both safety standards and the expectations of the community, as well as meets all necessary requirements and permits. 

One notable aspect of the Alpine Hills Park project was the introduction of GASS's prefabricated features. These innovative features were carefully designed, paying meticulous attention to detail. Alpine Hills Park served as one of the first projects where these new features were installed and used by the public, adding an element of excitement and novelty to the park.

The Gateway Trail, spanning approximately 1.2 miles, provides an awesome addition to the mountain biking community in Rockford. Designed with beginners in mind, it offers a safe and engaging environment for those new to the sport to develop their skills and confidence. It exemplifies the commitment to providing diverse outdoor recreational opportunities within the community while fostering a growing mountain biking culture.
